WHO WE ARE
GO Scavenger Hunts is an experience design company headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan. We use creative scavenger hunts to connect teams, friends & communities.
The idea of GO Scavenger Hunts (then Distel Wolfe Events) was born in a coffee shop in February 2015, with Jill approaching Carol on the idea of team building scavenger hunts. This approach of designing interactive experiences — events that are both educational AND fun — filled a void for businesses and nonprofits who wanted to connect and create authentic bonds with their key people.
The idea took off, and today Carol and Jill design wildly creative events for teams, families & friends, and communities all over the country.
A few of our clients:
Jill Hinton Wolfe is a communicator, entrepreneur and Army veteran who is passionate about designing surprising and unique experiences for her clients. She graduated from Grand Valley State University (where she now teaches PR as an adjunct) in 2001 with a degree in advertising and public relations. She’s worked for over 20 years in healthcare, manufacturing, technology and media industries as sales and PR communications expert.
In 2015 Jill partnered with Carol Distel to form the experiential design startup GO Scavenger Hunts. Her passion for building community and creating authentic experiences that bond people together has led her to design events and communications that engage, entertain and educate.
In her free time, Jill loves backpacking with her dog and trying to learn to love football with her husband, two children and three stepsons. Grateful for an amazing community of friends and colleagues, Jill helps people embrace the unpredictable, adapt to change and make a greater impact on the world.
Carol Distel is the energetic optimist who seeks to motivate and encourage her clients to connect, engage and succeed. A native of Long Island, New York, Carol began her career in human resources and worked with accounting and consulting firms hiring and onboarding hundreds of new employees. She later transitioned into the non-profit field before starting her own event-planning business. Throughout her professional career Carol recognized that the best teams had a few things in common, a trust for one another, a common vision, great communication skills and an understanding of each person personal and professional values.
Carol enjoys spending time with her husband, three children and two dogs and is an avid college (Big 10) football fan. Carol is active within her community and volunteers with organizations that make an impact on women, children and four-legged furry friends.
"People really seemed to enjoy the group photo challenges the most, and the video was a hit, too! Thanks again for everything!"
