Fall means back-to-school, and for GO Scavenger Hunts, it also means a new intern! We're thrilled to have GVSU junior Elliot Rieth aboard helping us with everything from running hunts to managing our social media. Welcome aboard, Elliot!
What were you like in high school?
In high school I was a member of my school’s rowing team, participated in several variety shows, and occupied my free time with a close knit group of friends. I was involved in sports, academics, and choir; so my time was often busy.
What new thing could you teach me in 5 minutes?
I pride myself in my many pursuits; such as singing, guitar, rowing, and many other hobbies I’ve picked up along the way. I love to teach people how to row, as I think it’s an important life skill to have. I’ve learned to teach people the basic relatively quickly, but it is a complicated sport that takes years to master, so I could never truly teach anyone everything there is to know.
What inspires you?
I am constantly finding inspiration from the people around me. From my father and grandfather, to friends of mine pursuing their passions, I am always finding new ways to view life and motivate myself. I believe that my biggest inspiration is my father. He shows me to constantly stick with what I love to do while valuing hard work. He is one of the most dedicated and kind people I know, and I aspire to be like him.
What Do you want to do when you grow up?
For my career, I want to eventually work a job that allows me to provide entertainment and joy to people. Potentially entertainment PR or event planning and promotion. Either that or I would like to open my own PR firm, so I can work with as many different fields as possible.
Why did you apply for this internship, and what do you hope to get out of it?
I found interest in this internship because I really like the service that Go Scavenger Hunts provides for people. I like that the scavenger hunts provide a new way to get to know people while also having fun. I am most excited to work directly with the hunts and to see how different people experience each hunt.
